It’s been seven years since Detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith), and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) saved the ever so talented Syd (Ms. Gabrielle Union) from her Colombian Captors in Cuba. Now, Martin Lawrence opens up in an interview with MTV about whats going on with the next installment in the Bad Boys series.

“It’s real realistic,” the comedian revealed to MTV News recently, addressing rumors that he’ll re-team with Bay and the former Fresh Prince once again. “We’ve talked about ‘Bad Boys 3.’ “Any time you can get Big Willie to come out and talk about doing a third installment of a hot movie like ‘Bad Boys,’ you have to take notice,” Lawrence explained. “I met with Michael Bay, and he said he’s on board too — so it’s real.”

Currently writer Peter Craig is drafting a script for Bad Boys 3 for Columbia Pictures and everyone on the “Bad Boys” team is ready to go. We’re just waiting for the green light from the franchise producer, Jerry Bruckheimer.

Sounds like the next Bad Boys joint is right around the corner

The entire Smith family, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jaden Smith, Willow Smith and Trey Smith, along with Jackie Chan, were on hand at the Kids Choice Awards 2010 show in Los Angeles.

Jaden stars with Jackie Chan in this summer's "The Karate Kid", a retelling of the classic 80s film that starred Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita. Morita received an Academy Award nomination for his role in the film as Mr. Miyagi. Jaden's father, Will Smith, produced the 2010 film which was shot on location in Beijing.

Similar to the premise of the original, this version of "The Karate Kid", tells the story of a young boy, Dre,  who moves to Beijing China with his mother. Barely settled in and still adjusting to his surroundings, he immediately encounters the bullies at his school.  Dre gets male guidance and lessons in Chinese martial arts from a mentor named Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan. Academy Award nominated actress, Taraji P. Hensen plays Dre's mom.

Will Smith stands alone as the only modern movie star to virtually guarantee box office success.

His 2008 film “Seven Pounds” challenged that status.

The film wasn’t a failure, but it was the first Smith project in some time not to cross the $100 million mark.

We haven’t seen a movie from the former Fresh Prince since then.

Coincidence? Or just a mega-star recharging his creative batteries?
